Born in Istanbul, 1972. After playing each and every rock club in Istanbul between 1993-1996 and being featured at MTV Europe; he attended Musicians’ Institute London, Guitar Institute of Technology in 1996 and he studied lead & rhythm guitar, harmony, songwriting and similar subjects at this famous guitar school, where he was elected as a songwriter for the Bernard Purdie Funkshop. For this workshop he played guitars for the studio recordings of six songs, two of which are his own works. In London, he performed at clubs with various bands too. He completed the G.I.T. course with a Gold Award in 1997 and graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at Istanbul University in 1998.

Same year he founded the Guitar Club where he has been teaching guitar since then. “No not that again !” he said after he found himself playing 4-5 nights a week with cover bands back in Istanbul. He ignored the 'entertainer' role of the musician so he abandoned all these bands he performed with and decided to put up a new one to make his own music in 1999. Bora Uslusoy spent most of his time on songwriting between 1999-2002. He achieved to create a unique sound by combining al’a turca melodies and strong harmonic structure with sincere lyrical content. His identity as a songwriter became more clear as well as his strong guitar playing and singing. In 2003 he performed many concerts with his own band. Bora Uslusoy’s debut Umutsuz Ask -produced by Serdar Oztop- was released on June 2004.

Bora Uslusoy has written 3 instructional books on guitar in Turkish language; Progressive Solo Gitar Metodu, Yeni Baslayanlar Icin Penali Gitar Metodu, Solo Gitar Icin Diziler ve Arpejler. ‘Progressive Solo Gitar Metodu’ with an accompanying audio cd was the first in its kind, became a best seller since first release in 2003. Besides he has written articles about guitars in Hit Sound and Soundmag. Also worked as an arranger and coach for high school bands some of which had been quite succesful.  Bora USLUSOY is a founder member of Modern Muzik Akademisi where he teaches guitar, harmony and songwriting.
